How to launch iTunes at startup with a random song?

January 20, 2010 No comments

I write this article in response to a question read on a forum, in the hope that it will help someone in addition to the direct question (Stephen, aka "Pisubijoux").

There are several methods to do this, I suggest using a small script (to be created with AppleScript Editor) to launch the start of the user's login.

We arrive at practical ...

1) Open the AppleScript editor and enter the following code (commented to help you understand ... ah, comments are inserted with "--" ):

-- Open iTunes
tell application "iTunes"

- Show window of iTunes running (remove "-")
- Activate

- Sep shuffle mode to the playlist "Music" (Change it if you want)
September shuffle of user playlist "Music" to true
- Remove shuffle mode to the playlist "Music" (Change it if you want)
- Set shuffle of user playlist "Music" to false

- Play music!
play

end tell

2) Click on Insert and then save it as an Application.

3) Open System Preferences -> Accounts -> Startup Items -> enter the application you just saved!

For the lazy, you can directly download the file from here:

Only ... then proceed to step 3!

The cunning and hypocrisy in Italy

October 6, 2008 1 comment

Date: October 4, 2008
Location: Torino - Stadio Delle Alpi
Event: Concert by Vasco Rossi
Ticket price: 43 € (lawn)

We arrive at the stadium, all loads in this "away" that sees us as spectators of an event which many want to participate ... too many, but perhaps it is not even entirely true ...
We had an extra ticket, "advanced" for an incident that occurred at the last moment, unfortunately, a component of this trip planned ... but not everything can be programmed.

We wander outside the stadium trying to "place" a ticket, but we note that there are many in our situation, with redundancies tickets ... in the end we opt to swap it with a shirt and a bandana Vasco (dubious decision).

After the ordeal of the "extra ticket" we go to the entrance of the area where our tickets corresponded more or less diligently to put in the queue.
In the walk we have noticed the impossible: assaults real fences of the stadium, skilled jumpers, climbers makeshift barbed-wire-and dodges, all under the watchful eye of the casual and the police, carabinieri police ... in short.
Not a word, nor by agents inside the stadium or just those that sought out almost enjoyed the fact.

And we? forty minutes in the queue ... queue (having more friends already in the queue during our mission aforementioned). It almost seemed that we were outlaws WE ... amazing.

And once inside you care about two plastic caps ... unbelievable, that hypocrisy!
Obviously, the control is the same as that could make a blind 1km away and with ears plugged. A shame really.

Finally we come ... I turn and see the guys who fight with a security guard (will be weighed 45 pounds wet ed.)
I hear: "You're a bastard, does not cost you a dick."
At first sight I think, "Here they are .. the usual ignorant deliquentelli that make the tough."

But I am curious, I have nothing to do, and I wait a minute. What do you know?
The boys after entering diligently doing his own tail, had arrived from quest'addetto cortesamente asking him if he could open the emergency door to spend their friend (on the other side of the barrier of plexiglass) disabled, wheelchair, supported in the arms of his two friends.
L 'upright ... the severe security officer monitors closely the stadium!
You can not enter, you have to get the queue like everyone else, in the middle of the crowd, suffering more or less voluntary definitely pushed the people around her and that already is rightly at 8 (more or less) drunk!

I would love these cue (the employee) will have to have the opportunity to read me and steal all my contempt for his inability to interpret situations and his ability to be a frustrated idiot who thinks he has the power in something and finally realizes that it did not even power on their ability to reason.

Apart from these trifles the concert went well, no mess and the "usual" big Vasco!

Simply never change us ... Italian cunning, hypocritical and ignorant (from Latin if someone does not know the etymology of the word).

Greetings critical at all!

An amnesty is forever ...

Fidelity

Beautiful Song: Fidelity by Regina Spektor.

Did expresses my state of mind, a bit 'of time (a bit' in short) in this part of the melody is perfect ... I would say ... a continuous ticking like what I have always in my head. Always.

This is the video with the song ... maybe you will share with me the opinion or maybe you'll think it's just another A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton.

The words, perhaps, but in the end are trivial banality is not always a bad thing, especially since the topic is love.

But what can you do?

Continue. "Solo" to continue.
