How to Start iTunes start with a random song?

January 20, 2010 No Comments

I write this article in response to a question read on a forum, hoping it will help someone in addition to the person concerned (Stefano, aka "Pisubijoux").

There are several ways to do this, I suggest using a small script (to be created with AppleScript Editor) to launch the start of the user's login.

We arrive at practical ...

1) Open the AppleScript editor and enter the following code (commented to help you understand ... ah, comments are inserted with "--" ):

-- Open iTunes
tell application "iTunes"

- Show window of iTunes running (remove "-")
- Activate

- Sep shuffle mode to the playlist "Music" (Change it if you want)
September shuffle of user playlist "Music" to true
- Remove shuffle mode to the playlist "Music" (Change it if you want)
- Set of user shuffle playlist "Music" to false

- Play music!

end tell

2) Click on Compile and then save it as an application.

3) Open System Preferences -> Accounts -> Startup Items -> enter the application you just saved!

For the lazy you can download the file directly from here:

... Only then proceed to step 3!

The cunning and hypocrisy in Italy

October 6, 2008 1 comment

Date: October 4, 2008
Location: Torino - Stadio Delle Alpi
Event: Concert of Vasco Rossi
Ticket price: 43 Euros (lawn)

We arrive at the stadium, all loads in this "trip" that sees us as spectators of an event which many want to participate ... so many, too many, but perhaps it is not even entirely true ...
We had an extra ticket, "advanced" for an incident unfortunately the last moment to a component of this trip planned ... but not everything can be programmed.

We wander outside the stadium trying to "place" the ticket, but we note that there are many in our situation, with redundancies of tickets ... in the end we opt to swap it with a shirt and a bandana Vasco (dubious decision).

After the ordeal of the "extra ticket" we go to the entrance of the area where our tickets corresponded to put more or less diligently queued.
In the walk we have noticed the impossible: assaults real fences of the stadium, skilled jumpers, climbers and improvised barbed-wire-dodges, all under the watchful eye of the police and casual, police ... police in fact.
Not a word, nor by agents inside the stadium or those just out of the fact that aimed almost amused.

And US? queuing ... forty minutes of tail (having more friends already in the queue during our mission aforementioned). It almost seemed that we were outlaws WE ... incredible.

And once inside care of two plastic plugs ... incredible, that hypocrisy!
Obviously the control is the same as would make a blind 1km away and with ears plugged. A shame really.

Finally we come ... I turn and see the guys who fight with a security guard (will be weighed 45 pounds wet ed).
I hear: "You're a bastard, does not cost you a shit!".
At first sight I think: "Here they are .. the usual ignorant deliquentelli who make the tough".

But I am curious, I have nothing to do, and I wait a minute. What to know?
The boys after entering diligently doing his own tail, had arrived from quest'addetto cortesamente asking him if he could open the emergency door for passing their friend (the other side of the barrier of plexiglass) disabled, wheelchair, supported in the arms of his two friends.
L 'upstanding officer ... the strict stadium security very vigilant!
You can not enter, must be the queue like everyone else, in the middle of the crowd, suffering definitely pushed more or less voluntary people that surrounds it and that already at 8 is rightly (more or less) drunk!

I wish these cue (the employee) may have to have the opportunity to read and steal all my contempt for his inability to interpret situations and his ability to be a frustrated idiot who thinks he has the power in something and that finally realizes that he had not even power on their ability to reason.

Apart from these trifles the concert went well, no mess and the "usual" big Vasco!

Simply never change us Italians ... crafty, hypocritical and ignorant (Latin if someone did not know the etymology of the word).

Greetings to all critical!

An amnesty is forever ...

Beautiful this song: Fidelity by Regina Spektor.

Perhaps expresses my state of mind, a bit 'of time (a bit' in short) in this part of the melody is perfect ... I would say ... a continuous ticking like what I have always in my head. Always.

This is the video with the song ... maybe you will share with me the opinion or perhaps you'll think it's just another with Vanessa Carlton A Thousand Miles.

The words, perhaps, are trivial but in the end the banality is not always a bad thing, especially since the topic is love.

But what can you do?

Continue. "Only" continue.
