Microsoft opens POP3 and SMTP Hotmail / Live

January 9, 2009 105 comments

It is a story passed quite unnoticed ... appears here and there in some forum a few users who have tried and tested the fact: Microsoft finally opened POP3 and SMTP mail service Hotmail / Live.

Most likely the advent of gMail and many other services with POP3 first, and then IMAP, open access their mail through a common email client, did reflect the Redmond.

What happens at this point? Just happens that if the situation were to remain so, do not make it necessary programs like FreePOPs, MacFreePOPs and other services that allow to circumvent the problem of "POP3 server closed".

We come all'operativo with the steps necessary to configure our beloved Mac Mail to download mail Hotmail / Live ...

To simplify things even carry screenshots examples ...

I hope this tip will be useful to someone!

FreePOPs 0.2.9

January 7, 2009 30 comments

Just before Christmas the team FreePOPs has not stopped working and has "donated" a new version of FreePOPs 0.2.9 came to the very useful program that lets you download your mail on your mail client (Mail, Thunderbird, Outlook) and -mail also services that do not allow you to use your POP3 server unless you use their internet.

Examples ecclatanti are Libero, Hotmail, Alice, Inwind, Virgilio and many other email services ... in my opinion of dubious quality (especially junk mail that is not filtered properly), especially when compared with services like gMail or AOL .

This version has introduced significant improvements "under the hood" just looking in the direction of Leopard, our beloved system of Apple.

From here you can visit the official website of the project FreeePOPs .

From here , however, you can access the complete guide to the configuration of mail in Mac with FreePOPs (and using FMU ).

WordPress 2.6.5!

November 26, 2008 No Comments

Almost every regular team of WordPress has released another major update of the platform's most beloved blogger, or at least from me.

We are therefore in WordPress 2.6.5 !

As the authors themselves have written was skipped version 2.6.4 because of versions "fake" that are shot on the net that compromettavano security blogger. Reported verbatim text:

The security issue is an XSS exploit discovered by Jeremias Reith That Affects fortunately only IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. If you are interested only in the security fix, copy wp-includes / feed.php and wp-includes / version.php from the 2.6.5 release package.

2.6.5 contains three other small fixes in Additions to the XSS fix. The first Prevents accidentally saving post meta information to a revision. The second Prevents XML-RPC from fetching incorrect post types. The third adds some user ID sanitization During bulk delete requests. For a list of changed files, consult the full changeset between 2.6.3 and 2.6.5.

Notes That we are skipping version 2.6.4 and 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 from jumping to avoid confusion with a fake release 2.6.4 That made the rounds. There is not and never will be at version 2.6.4.

I have already updated without problems, and no hitch with no plugin (in my case)!

How about you? What aspects?
Good update to all!

Pwned! (2.0)

July 20, 2008 No Comments

Yes yes yes guys ... was released Pwned Tool 2.0 is this night as promised by the Dev-Team .

And now you can also unlock the 2.0 firmware for iPhone 2G and 3G in a few clicks! Actually Pwned Tool allows you to create a firmware "customized" (custom) to be loaded via the iTunes restore very easily, without losing the custom settings you had before the "transition".

Here's proof of simplicity ...

Back in the SSH in the iPhone and with all the possibilities before!

And finally Cydia Installer instead of that sad Installer Nullriver that was far too slow. We hope you remain in this direction ...

The only drawback ... too few applications available for now, but everything seems to be faster and the AppStore, although a fee, offers good applications smileys

Thanks Dev-Team!
