Upgrade of WordPress and ... blank page? fault MyGallery plugin!

February 27, 2010 No comments

It happened with the update (upgrade) to version 2.9.1 and now with 2.9.2. After the upgrade we found with the site is not fully functional, even the administrative part.

The problem then is it due?

First of laziness not to make the Appraise according to the directions given by WordPress.org that invites you to turn off all themes and plugins configured on your site.

Specifically, however, this problem is given by the activation of the plugin that MyGallery not find two files generates this dreadful problem. The files are indicted:

In fact, reading the code of the plugin can be observed:

Wordpress Upgrade

So you do not need is included in the folder wp-includes the site in question and the two files streams.php gettext.php and everything will magically work!

Good update to all and always remember to make a nice healthy backup of the database before proceeding with this type of transaction! Forewarned ...

WordPress 2.6.5!

November 26, 2008 No comments

Almost every team in the regular WordPress has released another major update to the platform's most beloved blogger, or at least by me.

We are therefore in WordPress 2.6.5 !

As the authors themselves have written has been skipped because of the version 2.6.4 versions of "fake" that are in turn compromettavano network security blogger. Reported verbatim text:

The security issue is an XSS exploit discovered by Jeremias Reith That Affects fortunately only IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. If you are interested only in the security fix, copy wp-includes / feed.php and wp-includes / version.php from the 2.6.5 release package.

2.6.5 contains three other small fixes in Additions to the XSS fix. The first Prevents accidentally saving post meta information to a revision. The second Prevents XML-RPC from fetching incorrect post types. The third adds some user ID sanitization During bulk delete requests. For a list of changed files, consult the full changeset between 2.6.3 and 2.6.5.

Note That we are skipping version 2.6.4 and jumping from 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 to avoid confusion with a fake 2.6.4 release That made the rounds. There is not and never will be in version 2.6.4.

I have already updated without problems, and no hitch with no plugin (in my case)!

And you? What are you waiting?
Good update to all!

WordPress 2.6 ... the "saga" continues!

July 15, 2008 6 comments

And after more than a month of development, the WordPress team has released another major update to the platform's most beloved blogger, or at least by me.

We are therefore in WordPress 2.6 !

There are many new features:

  • review system of post
  • support for gears;
  • preview of the themes;
  • Posted via Bookmarlet;
  • correction of 194 bugs;
  • more ...

I refer you to the website of the good old (not so eh) David for a detailed explanation of the changes introduced (with a lot of screens).

I have already updated with no problems, just a plugin that does the tantrums, but other than that no hitch!

And you? What are you waiting?
