WordPress 2.6.5!

November 26, 2008 No comments

With almost every regular team of WordPress has released another major update of the platform's most popular bloggers, or at least from me.

We are therefore in WordPress 2.6.5 !

As the authors themselves wrote was skipped version 2.6.4 because of versions "fake" being turned into network compromettavano security blogger. Reported verbatim text:

The security issue is an XSS exploit discovered by Jeremias Reith That fortunately only affects IP-based virtual servers running on Apache 2.x. If you are interested only in the security fix, copy wp-includes / feed.php and wp-includes / version.php from the 2.6.5 release package.

2.6.5 contains three other small fixes in Additions to the XSS fix. The first Prevents accidentally saving post meta information to a revision. The second Prevents XML-RPC from fetching incorrect post types. The third adds some user ID sanitization During bulk delete requests. For a list of changed files, consult the full changeset between 2.6.3 and 2.6.5.

Notes That we are skipping and jumping from version 2.6.4 to 2.6.3 2.6.5 to avoid confusion with a fake release 2.6.4 That made the rounds. There is not and never will be at version 2.6.4.

I have already upgraded without problems, and no hitch with no plugin (in my case)!

And you? What aspects?
Good update to all!

WordPress 2.6 ... the "saga" continues!

July 15th, 2008 6 comments

And after more than a month of development, the team of WordPress has released another major update of the platform's most popular bloggers, or at least from me.

We are therefore in WordPress 2.6 !

There are many new features:

  • review system of post
  • support gears;
  • preview of the themes;
  • publication via Bookmarlet;
  • fix 194 bugs;
  • more ...

I refer you to the site of the good old (not so eh) David for a detailed explanation of the changes introduced (with a screen).

I have already upgraded without problems, just a plugin that makes the tantrums, but beyond that no hitch!

And you? What aspects?
